Exciting Announcement!

I know, I know.

I've been MIA for like, 3 and a half months after PROMISING I was going to be focusing more on blogging this year.

I still intend to keep that promise, and I have some exciting news!

After a few months of brainstorming, planning, designing, writing, and editing...I have finally started a new blog.

I decided I wanted to start a clean slate, and believe me, I'm going in with a bang. My first post is QUITE personal, but it's something that has been weighing on me. I struggled with posting it -- and seriously considered not -- but everywhere I turned, the issue seemed to come up, so I ultimately decided to suck it up and press publish.

Where Have I Been?

...All your liiiiyyyyiiiifffeee?!?!?!

(That's a song, guys. Kind of.)

So I just *happened* to be looking through my blog feed on blogger and then my eyes jumped up and noticed that I haven't posted in over a month.

Oops.

I actually think that's wrong. I don't feel like it's been that long. Really, I don't. I blame Netflix. I got a Netflix account, and because I'm not a big fan of movies but I L-O-V-E getting hooked on a good TV show, I've been watching approximately 4 seasons of various shows per week.

Don't worry, I actually only did that for two weeks in a row. But watching that much TV seriously makes the days go by, like, super fast.

Actually, the main* reason I've been gone is because I'm working on finalizing my Capstone project which is due two weeks from tomorrow! What a relief it will be when it's over; this project is SO HUGE.

*Main meaning I work on it for the two whole days before each assignment is due. And assignments are due every two weeks. So however much of a main reason that can be. That's my reason. Netflix is the other main reason.

So basically what I'm trying to say here is...I'll be back in two weeks, haha. BECAUSE the FINAL project is due in TWO WEEKS...and I can't just wait until the day before to start working on that one. No more procrastinating for this girl.*

*HA. Heard that before.

I'm actually supposed to be working on that right now...so I'm gonna go get back to that. Basically the purpose of this post is so that it doesn't say my last post was March 7th, because that really bothered me. So, the cobwebs have been dusted off of this blog, and I will be back to dust them off again in two weeks!

Not Dead.

Contrary to what I'm sure is popular belief, I'm actually not dead.

I've just been super busy with like...finals...and working on two plays...and...you know, watching Friends reruns...

I promise I will blog more regularly over the break (which, by the way, I am officially declaring started as of now). But until then, some snippets:

• I finished my first semester of college with a 3.5 GPA. Not bad for the first semester, so I've heard.
• I was in a musical this weekend at church, which went really well. My mom also directed a play at my old high school this weekend (that I helped with), which also went really well.
• I went black Friday shopping for the first time ever! It was a successful shopping trip. Got everything I wanted. Except for one pair of boots that I had to get in a bigger size because they didn't have mine. And they're too big, so I have to exchange them. And when I went to Kohl's to do so, they still didn't have my size. So I need to go check a different store.
• I am SO IN THE CHRISTMAS SPIRIT. Christmas is in, like, a week, y'all. YAY.
• I'm almost done with Christmas shopping. Just a couple more people to go. I'm so excited to see everyone open their gifts (I'm really rocking the gift giving thing this year, if I do say so myself).
• I started this new training thing at work this morning which requires me to get up at 5:30 EVERY MONDAY MORNING. Therefore, I'm tired.
• New Year's Eve party = so happening. Invitations have been sent, but plans have not been made...I'll work on that later.
• I'm going to Holiday in the Park at Six Flags on Saturday! Woohoo!
• I won Bingo at my company's Christmas party and got a $30 gift card to BJ's, where I have never been. Cool. (I never win stuff, so it's exciting).
• I made Christmas cookies and gingerbread men and they were a hit! I will be making them again.

I think that's it for now. I have a gazillion unpublished drafts I've been working on, so maybe I'll post one or all of those in the near future...we'll see.

Oh, Hey. I Have a Blog.

Yeah. So in case you haven't noticed I haven't been around lately...

I have a good excuse, I promise. But before I start explaining, I have an announcement/a favor to ask.

Okay, well I don't really have that many readers at the moment BUT I'm really looking to start expanding my blog. You know, do this more as a regular thing and not just sporadically. 'm also hoping to make more friends here in the blogosphere so I will be looking for blogs similar to mine in order to help do that. But it will also help if others spread the word! If you happen to know someone looking for a blog about life by an 18 year old girl possibly by the name of Kayla...you might as well just give them my URL. :)

But in all seriousness, if you think your readers might enjoy me too, I would greatly appreciate it if you would tell them about me. I'm really hoping to meet some new people and also find some good blogs that I enjoy reading. And I promise I will get a lot better about commenting...I haven't been doing much of that lately, but I should have more time now to do that. :)

Okay...back to why I've been MIA for so long.

The Month of June...

As I mentioned earlier, I went to San Antonio the first week of June for a senior trip with 5 of my closest friends. It was a blast. I will try to dedicate a post to that later.

Then...I came back, unpacked, washed all my clothes, and repacked...for a three week summer training program with some girls from my youth group. That was intense, but awesome. I will also try to post more about this at a later time.

But basically, that is why I have not been here. In that three weeks I did not have access to any sort of technology. Told you I had a good excuse! I was suffering for Jesus (kind of).

So What About July?

Umm....yeah.

Let's just pretend it's July 1st and I blogged as soon as I got home.

I have no excuse for the last two weeks.

What Else Is New?

Well, I had orientation at the University of Texas at Arlington this past Monday and Tuesday. I am now completely registered for classes! I start August 23rd. So that's a new exciting stage of life. :)

That's really the only new thing in my life...I'm boring.

So anyway, all this to say I'm back and better than ever! Keep checking back for those posts about San Antonio and summer training!

So, tonight I opened my big mouth and let some of my friends know I have a blog.

So they looked it up and started reading it.

Which means they might come back.
